Motor Vehicle Inspection Station (MVIS) is an ACT Government new purpose-built facility. This new facility has replaced the existing inspection station which was located in Dickson since the 1970’s and had reached the end of its serviceable life due to problems with large vehicle access and the redevelopment of the new light rail along Northbourne Ave.
The project bought together the requirements of a number of relative complex set requirements, sign-off and delivery of a comprehensive functional facility. The design concept incorporates a sound and direct one way traffic arrangement facilitating a pre and post inspection flow. It also includes complex in-ground servicing inspection pits and associated services. Materials used including pre-cast concrete panels and Kliplok Colourbond roofing.
Local and national transport industry stakeholders joined the Minister for Regulatory Services, Gordon Ramsay at the official opening of the facility in July 2017 Located at 29 Couranga Crescent in Hume.
