Nikias Diamond takes home award for ‘Acardia’ at the 2025 Master builders Awards

Nikias Diamond was honoured to take home both an award and Judges Commendation at this year’s Master Builders and Asset Construction Hire Excellence Awards for our ‘Arcadia’ residential project build in Forrest, completed in late 2024.

Hosted on Friday 5 September at the National Convention Centre, the Awards are an annual showcase of excellence within the construction industry here in the ACT, bringing together industry members to celebrate the best projects and people of the year gone by.

Entered in collaboration with DNA Architects and Sellick Consultants, the ambitious project home took home the top honour in the ‘Best Use of Material in a Residential Project’ Category on the night.

While it didn’t take out the win for the category, the project also received a Judges Commendation for the ‘Custom Built'/Project Home - $2 Million to $4 Million’ Category on the night.

Designed by the team at DNA Architects, the façade features custom fluted concrete spandrels and honed stack bond bricks, creating a subtle, elegant canvas.

The project was described by the judges as simply ‘beautiful', noting the home seamlessly blends indoor and outdoor living through a unique use of materials.

A defining feature of this incredible home is its custom fluted concrete spandrels, which bring a sense of rhythm and sculptural refinement to the facade and create a dynamic interplay of light and shadow.

The judges noted that the fluting helps soften the effect of what is usually a commercial material. These concrete elements are complemented by the use of standard and honed stack-bond bricks. Their refined finish and precise alignment create a seamless, contemporary backdrop.
